I was never a big fan of Will and Grace. It’s not that I didn’t like the show, quite frankly I just never got around to watching the show. But many a Will and Grace fan loved the weekly performance given by American actor and comedian Sean Hayes. His comedic wit and sometimes “over the top” flair made for funny viewing each week and won him seven consecutive Emmy award nominations and six Golden Globe award nominations. (On a personal note, I really liked him when I saw him for the first time in the movie “Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss”).
But nevertheless, we get to see that comedic wit and gorgeous smile on display at the 2010 Tony Awards which he gets to host next month. CBS made the announcement today along with advertising the fact that this year’s Tony Awards will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York on June 13th. Hayes is currently starring along side Kristin Chenoweth in the Broadway play “Promises, Promises.”
Out gay actor Neil Patrick Harris was the host last year which saw an increase of viewership by 19% from 2008. It is hoped that Hayes can bring that same magic and dynamic to this year’s award show. Congrats Sean and we will see you at the Tony’s.
I couldn’t resist. Here is a video clip from Billy’s Hollywood Screen Kiss, click here.
